This page is for Names for Games (namesforgames.com). It is written the way we talk in party chat, not like a terms dump copied from a generator. Short version: this is a free username tool. You do not sign up. We do not keep a profile of who you are. The rest is what happens in the background when any site stays online.
What We Collect
Names for Games does not require registration. There is no account, no saved username list, and no password field hiding behind Generate. We do not collect account information because we do not have accounts. You will not be asked for a real name, billing details, or a login just to copy a gamertag.
We may still see anonymous usage stats from the people who host the site. Cloudflare and Vercel keep ordinary access logs: things like IP address, browser, device type, and which pages were requested. We treat that as operational noise, not a dossier. It exists so we can tell a real outage from a scraper knocking on the door, and so we know whether anyone actually opens the Roblox list. We do not use those logs to figure out who you are, and we do not require you to identify yourself before you paste a tag into a game.
If you email us, we will have the address you sent from and whatever you wrote. That stays in an inbox so we can reply. It is not mixed into the generator. The names you roll live in your browser until you copy them. We do not store your roll history on our servers.
Cookies
We may use a handful of necessary cookies. The useful one is preference memory — for example, keeping a cool vs. cute filter so you are not resetting it every visit. Those cookies exist to make the page less annoying. They are not a product we sell, and they are not required for the generator to spit out names.
If we connect a third-party ad service such as Google AdSense, Google may use cookies to show ads on this site, including personalized ads based on activity around the web. That is Google's advertising system, not a Names for Games login. You can turn personalized ads off in Google Ads Settings. Clearing cookies in your browser will not break copy-paste; you might just see a default filter the next time you land here.
We do not set a session cookie for an account, because there is no account. If that ever changes, this section will change with it.
Third-Party Services
We do not operate every machine that touches a request. These companies may process data when you use the site:
- Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, and request logs.
- Vercel — hosting and deployment logs.
- Google Analytics — not on the site today. If we add it later, it would only be for traffic stats (which pages get opened, from where, on what device).
- Google AdSense — not live yet. When we plug it in, Google would handle ad cookies as described above.
Each of those companies publishes its own privacy policy. If we add or drop a vendor, we will update this list instead of pretending the stack never changes.
How We Use Data
Anonymous logs, and any analytics we turn on later, have three jobs. Security: spotting floods, scrapers, and the kind of traffic that takes a small site offline. Performance: seeing which pages fail or crawl so we can fix them before the next ranked night. Product: noticing which name lists people actually use so we spend time on Xbox and Minecraft pages that help, not on empty rooms nobody opens.
We do not sell this data. We do not use generator input to build a public model of "who you are." We do not retarget you with a Names for Games account, because that account does not exist. Copy a tag, queue, and we are done.
Children's Privacy
This is a general-audience tool, not a kids' club. Plenty of players are teenagers, and pages like Roblox stay in PG territory on purpose so a Realm death message does not get weird. We still do not target children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
There is no children's account, no birthday field, and no newsletter a kid has to join to get names. The generator does not need a child's real name, school, or phone number to work. If you are a parent and you believe someone under 13 sent us personal information by email, write to us. We will delete that message.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request to delete an email you sent us, go to Contact. You can also write hello@namesforgames.com directly. We usually reply within one or two business days.
